  • Exotic Erotic Ball & Sonicbids Team-Up To Offer 2 Prime Gigs To Indie Bands

Exotic Erotic Ball & Sonicbids Team-Up to Offer 2 Prime Gigs to Indie Bands World’s Largest, Longest-Running Adult Party Partners With Sonicbids for Fourth Time

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The 31st annual Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo, the internationally acclaimed Celebration of Flesh, Fetish, and Fantasy, which has been called “The World’s #1 Wildest and Sexiest Party” by E! Entertainment TV, the “#1 Adult Festival in the World,” by AskMen.com, and one of the “69 Sexiest Things to Do Before You Die,” by Playboy TV, has again evidenced its longstanding commitment to promoting independent music. It is offering two prime-time, full-paying gigs exclusively to Indie artists.

To be considered for the gigs, bands must apply by submitting their EPK (Electronic Press Kit) through Sonicbids at http://bit.ly/dvptKj on or before September 20, 2010. All entries will be juried, rated and two winners will be chosen to play before thousands of masked, costumed, and otherwise elaborately attired fans at the 2010 Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo, October 22 & 23, 2010*, at the San Francisco Bay Area’s newest and most spectacular waterside venue: The Craneway Pavilion. Winners will be notified on September 30, 2010.

The 2010 show marks the Ball’s fourth collaboration with Sonicbids. Previous Indie bands who won gigs at the Ball were 2009 winners CR GRUVE from Portland, Maine, and SUPER GEEK LEAGUE from Seattle – the latter of which were so popular, producers are bringing them back for 2010. 2008 winners were THE BURNING OF ROME from San Diego, MUD from San Francisco and CARNIVAL OF SIN, from British Columbia, Canada; 2007 winners were BLACK BETTY AND THE BAD HABITS from Boston; and the Los Angeles-based DOXY and LADY FOX. Sonicbids winners performed on the same bill with legendary artists including Snoop Dogg, Peaches, Donald Glaude, the Spyderz, Tone Loc, The Impotent Sea Snakes, and others. BLACK BETTY’S lead vocalist, Jenny Langer, called the experience, “A true highlight for us that we’ll always remember. That’s one fun and crazy crowd!”

“The Ball is very visible,” adds Mann. “And many bands with sexy lead singers and provocative lyrics feel they fit the show. Many of them do. The problem for us is we receive hundreds of DVD's, CD's, emails, and links. We don’t have the time or manpower to sift through them. But, I am a songwriter myself, and I have a real commitment to Indie music. Our relationship with Sonicbids allows us to manage this function and show that commitment. Every submission gets heard, and it all comes to us online. I look forward to shaking hands with the 2010 winners on stage at the Ball.”

“The Ball” is widely considered the world’s #1 adult-themed party event with live headline entertainment on five stages – music, electronic, burlesque, circus, and fetish. Over its 30-year history, headline entertainment has included Joan Jett, Chris Isaak, Grace Jones, Greg Allman, George Clinton, Thomas Dolby, Everclear, plus untold numbers of celebrity guests, pop culture icons, and the world’s top burlesque, fetish, and novelty acts.

[caption id="attachment_3602" align="aligncenter" width="385" caption="GhettoPhysics: Will the Real Pimps and Hos..."][/caption] Los Angeles - Tuesday, August 24 will mark the evening that Captured Light Films, along with producer William Arntz and author E. Raymond Brown, debut a private screening of their groundbreaking collaboration "GhettoPhysics: Will The Real Pimps and Ho's Please Stand Up!" A documentary feature which mixes political commentary with social awareness and spirituality dynamics, "GhettoPhysics" jumps off the screen with input from Cornel West, Ice T, Too Short, Filmore Slim, John Perkins, Cynthia McKinney and Norman Lear.

Based on the E. Raymond Brown's critically acclaimed novel, Will the Real Pimps and Hos Please Stand Up - Peeping the Multi-leveled Global Game, "GhettoPhysics: Will The Real Pimps and Ho's Please Stand Up" will be released nationally this October by Captured Light Films and Samuel Goldwyn Films.
